Urinary Indicans
The urinary indican test is used to screen for bacterial links to digestive issues. It is a quick urine test completed in the practice, results are available within 10 minutes.
Following an initial consultation if the test is recommended you will be given a specimen jar enabling you to bring a urine sample to your next consult.
Conditions associated with a positive result include:
Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)
Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Celiac Disease
Low stomach acid
Reflux
Gastric Ulcer
Constipation

Complete Digestive Stool Analysis (CDSA)
This is a non-invasive test providing a valuable insight into understanding how your digestive tract is functioning. It is often useful for people who have been suffering from chronic digestive symptoms which remain ‘undiagnosed’ or labelled as IBS.

CDSA’s involve collecting a stool sample and sending it to a lab for analysis. Once your symptoms have been evaluated in the consultation we determine which levels of testing will be most beneficial. A comprehensive test provides information on the presence of yeasts, parasites, bacteria, pancreatic function, digestion and absorption.

Functional Liver Detoxification Profile (FLDP)
The Functional Liver Detoxification Profile (FLDP) determines how well your liver is functioning by challenging its detoxification capacity with low doses of caffeine, aspirin and paracetamol. Saliva and urine specimens are collected at home at set times then returned to the designated lab and analysed for metabolites of the three compounds to measure their conversion and clearance from the body.

The results of an FLDP can assist in the direction of treatment and provide valuable information in the management of patients who suffer from conditions such as food allergies, multiple chemical sensitivities, chronic fatigue syndrome, “leaky gut” and hormonal imbalance such as PMS and menopausal symptoms.
